Vishwaguruji's visit and programs in Karnataka
While staying in Bangalore, the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka, Vishwaguru Paramhans Sri Swami Maheshwaranandaji visited Sri Puthige Sri Krishna Math in Udupi and was warmly welcomed by current main pujari, Sri Sugunendra Teertha Swamiji.
Udupi Shri Krishna Temple is a well-known historic Hindu temple founded by Sri Madhvacharya during the 13th century. It is believed that Madhvacharya found the idol of Sri Krishna in a large ball of sandalwood.
One of the interesting stories about Udupi Krishna Temple says that through a small window, Lord Krishna gave darshan to his devotee, the saint Kanakadasa. Kanakadasa belonged to a low caste and was not allowed entry to the temple. But with courage, Kanakadasa went behind the temple and offered his prayers to the Lord through a small crack in the wall. Pleased with his dedication, the statue of Lord Krishna turned around to give him darshan.
Just as Sri Rama could not take his eyes off Hanuman, God cannot resist the call of a true bhakta. It is the irresistible attraction of pure love.
